Buchler specialises in the manufacture of plant extracts designed for the highest standards of the food and beverage industry. Our factory is located in Braunschweig in the center of Germany and exports more than 95% of its production worldwide. Our current product portfolio focuses on Cinchona alkaloids as well as quinic acid.
The raw materials are naturally sourced from the highest quality botanical resources. Our Cinchona alkaloids are extracted solely from the bark of Cinchona trees, which are harvested in dedicated plantations. In addition to Cinchona bark, we also offer other raw natural products. Our products are selected and sourced through a powerful UTZ and Fairtrade certified organisation, which we have set up with our local partners in Central Africa.
The foundation of our company is built on the quality, availability and reliability of our natural raw materials and products. This is particularly relevant with regard to the Cinchona bark, which requires approximately 10 years to achieve perfect maturity. We have a very strict stock reserve policy, which ensures that we are always fully prepared for any unexpected changes in our sourcing regions. Despite plantations being located in some of the most challenging regions of the world, we have never failed to deliver products of the highest quality to our customers.
Our natural Quinine products for the food industry are available as Quinine Hydrochloride, Quinine Sulfate or as Quinine Anhydrous. Quinic acid is also available on request.
Quinine is obtained by extraction from the Cinchona bark. It is responsible for the unique bitter taste of beverages such as Tonic Water, Bitter Lemon and many others.
